IDL compiler doesn't support logical types

    Description

      At least, as far as I can see it doesn't support it. We're looking at migrating to 1.8, and these additional types are a big motivator.

      I would advocate adding each one of the new logical types as supported primitive types in the IDL... if that sounds good to you, I can probably look into doing it tomorrow.
