Splascreen Instantly Removed from DOM instead of Fading Out

On iOS/Android platforms the splash screen has a nice fade out effect.
For the browser, at the moment the div is just thrown out of the DOM as soon as hide() is called.
Would be nice to have the browser platform synced up with the native ones.
