temporal_subset should trim edges of dataset times to ensure months divide evenly into years

When testing some obs4MIPs datasets, their start and end years do not have full annual temporal coverage (12 months). This creates problems when attempting to calculate seasonal / annual averages. Thus, we should try to trim the first and last years from the datasets automatically
