There is no way to create a single splash screen that looks good on all resolutions and densities

Our current splash screen implementation only allows a single image to be specified. We've recommended that developers create a 1280x1280 image with the primary content centered in the image and use the "zoom" scale mode. We don't have high-quality resampling on devices, so this technique results in poor image quality on the splash screen.
