Null pointer exception in expression resolver for Segmentation candidate

This happens when there are two expressions . Say expr1 answered from fact and expr2 answered from Segmentation.
Segmentation specific inner rewrite is passed expr1 as 0.0 and later in the flow expr1 is looked up which throws up NullPointerException.
