Honor the .gitignore file when creating an assembly

    Description

      Here's the use case.. I am using the unofficial maven wrapper. It implicitly downloads a jar file, which is listed in .gitignore.

      When building a source distribution, I would like to not have to special-case inside my assembly config, things already in this .gitignore.

      I understand this can be a problem with binary distributions, so this could be an option not a default.
