Description
Solr 8.x should contain the necessary pieces to build a docker image that is somewhat compatible with the official image. This doesn't necessarily need integrated tests or extensive documentation, since it will be replaced with the official Solr docker strategy in 9.0.
The [docker-solr repo|https://github.com/docker-solr/docker-solr] will continue to handle all remaining 8.x.y releases, so this does not need to support the functionality of handling releases or pushing to docker hub.
It would be nice to backport this functionality to previous major solr branches as well (7_x, etc), to allow users the ability to build custom docker images of those versions as well.
